found a matchstick holder Metal detecting with this printed on it.
J.D Gibson Cottage Hotel Angelica NY.
how long was this around?

Hello Jeff Just found your comment on the matchstick holder. The fire that took the hotel started at 2 am Feb 12 1914 one of the train locomotives that had steam up sounded his whistle to rouse the village. Angelica was the Shawmut RR hub. The Angelica Advocate wrote the story. It says the water pressure was first class and the firemen had no kick for want of water. The building was leased to Gibson by the Rochester Distilling Company. The temperature was 15 below zero at the time. No one knew when the building was built, before everyones time. The building was covered by insurance.

This would be located on the empty lot on the corner behind the library. The back of the library is visible in this picture.
